COURSE DESCRIPTION
|
Produced natural gas is generally associated
with crude oil or condensate. The heavier constituents
must be separated. Natural gases either from natural production
or storage reservoirs contain water. Natural gas in transit
to market should be dehydrated. Often hydrogen sulfide
and carbon dioxide are present in field gases and have
to be removed to specific levels. This course provides
the basic knowledge about various treatment methods and
equipments to be used for processing natural gas.
|
OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE
|
The objectives of the course are to inform
the students about
(1) physical properties of natural gas and contaminants
in general,
(2) the recovery of natural gas liquids, dehydration,
sweetening, and carbon dioxide removal,
(3) Equipments in the gas processing plant, (4) Pumps,
compressors, measurement devices, safety and handling
in the field.
