COURSE DESCRIPTION
|
Production Engineering I is a base course
for the third year Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering
students. This course offers a basic knowledge of petroleum
production. The course starts with the basics of a production
system. Then fluid flow in porous media and reservoir
performance are covered in detail. Rest of the class is
devoted to tubing performance, single and multi-phase
flow in pipes, wellhead performance, choke and flow-line
performance. The nodal analysis technique is used to explain
how to design production string elements.
|
OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE
|
The objective of this course is to introduce
students with basics of production systems. The course
is designed to cover important fundamental topics so that
the students will be equipped with a working knowledge
of reservoir, tubing, wellhead, choke and flow line performance,
tubing design and multiphase flow in pipes.
